Navajo Mahnoey poncho

The Mahoney Poncho Serape, Navajo, circa 1840.

The poncho serape measures 76 inches long by 50 inches wide, as woven.

Ex- Jim Mahoney, San Pedro, California.

All of the red yarns are raveled bayeta dyed with lac,
and were raveled from the same bolt of fabric.

Dated “1840-1850” by Dr. Joe Ben Wheat on March 19, 1982.
